Problem Solving Course Overview
5 Why's, 5 W's & 2 H's, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, A3 Reporting, Risk Analysis, FMEA, Cause and Effect, QFD, 6 Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA.
How many times have we as customers or as an employee experienced an issue or problem that we have seen and experienced before in the same business, same department, same process, same product or in providing the same service? This is often because we believe we do not have the time to fix an issue or problem fully, yet somehow we always find time to fix the issue or problem over and over again as it occurs. You know most of our businesses are getting larger, the range of products and services more complex, therefore if issues and problems are not being fixed forever and reoccurring then for sure we are going to experience more and more of them.
There are two issues here:
One is to fix the front end so the back end does not keep having as many issues and problems with changed or new processes, systems, products and services. This is largely accomplished with good project management and advanced quality planning.
The other is to have your staff skilled in Problem Solving skills, including the identification of root causes and sound corrective action.
Students undertaking this course should also consider Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
